PCG: A passing M/B Princess rescued a fisherman who went missing since Thursday, May 21 and the subject of search and rescue by personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Pasuquin in Ilocos Sur last Saturday, May 23.
Alvin Biazon reportedly went fishing at around 3:00 am onboard Motorbanca Blademer at approximately 20 miles off Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte. He then failed to return home in the evening.
On Saturday, a certain Marivic Sastre, resident of Sitio Deriqu, Barangay Davila, Pasuquin, reported to Coast Guard Station (CGS) Currimao that Biazon is missing.Β
The personnel of CGSS Pasuquin under CGS Currimao conducted search and rescue operation but yielded negative results due to bad weather and sea condition. The team also advised and coordinated with all coastal barangays and fisher folks within the area of responsibility to be on look out for the said fisherman and motor banca, and render necessary assistance and report same to the nearest PCG unit if sighted.
In the afternoon of May 23, CGSS Pasuquin was informed by a certain Marino Torricer, owner of M/B Princess that the reported missing fisherman was rescued by his motor banca that was skippered by Manuel Mistanza. Accordingly, Biazon was sighted with his motor banca floating at vicinity five nautical miles northeast of LS Pata Pt and was towed to the nearest shoreline at Barangay Taggat Norte, Claveria, Cagayan.
