PCG: Philippine Coast Guard Commandant, Admiral Rodolfo D Isorena headed the PCG delegation during the opening ceremony of this year’s marine pollution exercise entitled “MARPOLEX CEBU 2015” last 27 May at JSU-PSU Mariner’s Court, in Cebu.

The event was also graced by COMMO ELSON E HERMOGINO PCG, Commander of the Marine Environmental Protection Command and designated as the Philippine Exercise Co-Director; his counterpart DIAN LESMANA of Indonesia’s Directorate of Sea Transportation (DGST); Commander Ryoji Hayashi, Director for International Marine Pollution Prevention, Marine Environment Protection and Disaster Prevention Division of the Japan Coast Guard; and Vice Admiral Edmund C Tan PCG (Ret), General Manager of Cebu Ports Authority.

The ceremony was followed by a conference in preparation for the actual exercise where drills in search and rescue, firefighting and oil spill recovery will be held in Cebu Strait, Talisay, Cebu.
