PCG: Four young men where rescued from imminent drowning by five members of the Coast Guard Special Operations Group (CGSOG) 800 meters off the Cavite Buoy Base last Wednesday, June 10.
The men were seen floating by Petty Officer Third Class Jojit T Pungo PCG while the CGSOG were conducting water evolution training for the students of Coast Guard Special Operations Course (CGSOC).
The incident was reported to Petty Officer Second Class Richard F Corpuz PCG, senior instructor of the CGSOC, who then led a team of four SOG personnel to rescue the distressed men.

The survivors, who were all found to be in good physical condition, disclosed that they went to sea onboard a paddle boat to gather mussels (tahong). They eventually encountered heavy rain and big waves which caused their boat to sink.
All survivors were turned over to NBC Military Police for proper disposition.
