PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Camarines Sur rendered assistance to the crew of M/B Gracia Asombrosa, which encountered engine trouble at the vicinity waters of Salinggogon Minalabac, Camarines Sur last June 13.
A certain Jose Taño reported the incident to CGS Camarines Sur.
Investigation revealed that M/B Gracia Asombrosa, a cargo motorbanca with seven crew members onboard, encounter engine trouble and was dead on water while navigating at Salinggogon Minalabac, Camarines Sur.
Immediately, CGS Camarines Sur and Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Pasacao proceeded to the area to verify the veracity of the report and conducted joint search and rescue operation.
Around 3:30 pm, the SAR team sighted the distressed motorbanca and immediately rendered assistance and successfully fixed the boat engine.
The said motorbanca continued navigating escorted by SAR team enroute to Pasacao port.
The SAR team advised the Boat Captain of said motorbanca to file a marine protest and to conduct further repair and corrective maintenance to her main engine prior to her next port of call.
