PCG: DOTC Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya has recently approved and signed the five newly revised Marine Environmental Protection (MEP) Memorandum Circulars which were published in 2005.

Below are the following newly approved MEP Memorandum Circulars:

A. MC 07-14 Prevention of Pollution from Garbage 

B. MC 08-14 Rules and Regulation for Tank Cleaning Operations and Collection and Disposal of Diluted Oil and other Substances

C. MC 09-14 Shipboard Oil; Pollution Emergency Plan in the Philippines Registered Vessels

D. MC 10-14 Prevention of Pollution from Sewage

E. MC 11-14 Procedures for the Dumping of wastes and other Harmful matter within the Philippine Maritime Jurisdiction

Said memorandum circulars were already disseminated to all PCG units, maritime stakeholders, shipping companies and other government agencies for implementation.
