PCG: The Search and Rescue (SAR) team of the Philippine Coast Guard in Sual, Pangasinan continues searching for an 11-year old girl who reportedly drowned at Sinukalan River yesterday morning and remains missing.
The victim identified as Janelle M. Castro, was seen gathering garbage "pangangalakal" around 8:00 am at the river when she accidentally slipped and drowned.
The incident was reported by Col. Oro (ret) of PDRRMC to Coast Guard Station (CGS) Sual who immediately proceed to the area to conduct a search and rescue operations.
CGS Sual likewise coordinated with Eusebio Dela Cruz of MDRRMC Sta. Barbara for assistance during the SAR operations at Sinukalan River, Barangay Ventanilla, Sta. Barbara.
The underwater search and rescue at the site yielded negative results and was temporarily terminated the operations due to strong current and heavy rains and will resume if the weather permits.
