PCG: Elements of the Philippine Coast Guard in Romblon are still searching for two police officers who were reported missing yesterday by P/INS Manual Fernandez, Chief of Police of Romblon.

Investigation revealed that PO1 Imee Magada and PO2 Paul Masajo departed Barangay Cajimos, Romblon last Tuesday, around 1:00 pm, onboard motor banca Joanna Karla owned by the latter. Both were bound for Banton Island but have failed to reach their destination and have not yet contacted anyone up to this date.

Magada and Masajo were reportedly assigned at the Banton Municipal Police Station.

A search and rescue team composed of personnel from Coast Guard Station (CGS) Romblon, CGK-9, local PNP and staff from the Office of the Governor searched for the missing policemen off Cobrador Island, covering about 35 nautical miles.

The SAR operations was temporarily terminated due unfavorable sea condition.

Meanwhile, the Coast Guard advised all local folks and fishermen nearby to report to the nearest PCG Unit if the missing policemen were sighted.
