PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSSS) Dagupan retrieved the cadaver of a drowned man who was under the influence of alcohol in Manaoag, Pangasinan last Tuesday, July 21.
The victim, identified as Nestor Reyes Daus, 49 years old, went swimming with his son-in-law across Aloragat River. Daus was dragged by strong current and drowned.Β
Upon receiving the incident report from Mayor Kim Amador of Manaoag, Pangasinan, Coast Guard Station (CGS) Sual immediately deployed its personnel from CGSS Dagupan to conduct a shore patrol for Daus.
Men from the Coast Guard District North Western Luzonn (CGDNWLZN) and its Special Operations Unit, and personnel from CGSS San Fabian likewise proceeded at the area to augment the search team.
A thorough surface search from the drowning site up to Barangay Guesang, Mangaldan was conducted but yielded negative result.
The following day, a concerned citizen from Barangay San Ramon sighted a floating cadaver 200 meters away from the shoreline.
Upon retrieval by the Coast Guard, the victimβs family positively identified the cadaver as Nestor Daus. His remains were brought to Malaka Funeral for proper disposition.
