PCG: A total of 44 new lighthouse keepers took their oath before Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Rodolfo D Isorena at PCG headquarters in Manila today.
During his speech, Admiral Isorena congratulated said personnel for their appointment as additional force to the lighthouse keepers of the PCG. Isorena acknowledged the importance of their role in increasing the operational efficiency of lighthouses and expected them to perform their duties and responsibilities well as lighthouses are significant navigational aids especially in municipal areas near coastlines.Β
Said lighthouse keepers will be assigned in different Coast Guard districts to maintain various lighthouses in the country.
The event was attended by PCG Headquarters Support Group Commander, CAPT ANGELITO G GIL PCG; Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Human Resource Management, CAPT RAMON S LOPEZ PCG; Deputy Chief of Coast Guard Staff for Logistics, CAPT JUAN MANUEL DF RAMOS JR PCG and Coast Guard First Master Chief Petty Officer, FMCPO ONOFRE G OLIVERA JR PCG.
