PCG: A 33 gross ton fishing boat was apprehended by the Philippine Coast Guard in Palawan last Tuesday, July 21, due to several maritime violations in the vicinity waters of Barangay Calindangan, Aracelo. 

F/Bca Shiela HPV and its 10 crew members was found by the seaborne patrol of Coast Guard Sub Station (CGSS) Araceli 500 meters away from Barangay Calindangan's shoreline, buying fishes from the local fisher folks. 

Boarding inspection revealed that the said fishing boat has no coastwise license, its boat captain likewise has no license, there is no marine diesel mechanic, and all crew were operating unlicensed.

F/Bca Shiela HPV is owned by a certain HEM P. Villanueva of Barangay Sum-ag, Bacolod City.

A Maritime Violation Receipt was issued to the said fishing boat and the Coast Guard advised its master to rectify the charges with the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) office before resuming its normal operation.
