PCG: An eight-year old boy was found lifeless along the shoreline of Brgy. Macanaya, Aparri, Cagayan last Thursday, July 30 by the joint search and rescue team of the Philippine Coast Guard and PNP-Maritime Group. 

The cadaver of Joshua Dela Cruz was retrieved by the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Aparri, Special Operations Unit (SOU) and PNP Maritime Group-Aparri around 6:00 pm of the same day that he was reported missing by his mother. 

Initial investigation revealed that Joshua was swimming at the riverside of Brgy. Macanaya using an improvised floating device when his mother noticed that he was already drowning. 

The victim's cadaver was properly turned-over to his family for proper disposition.
