PCG: Two boys remain missing while three others were rescued after an untoward incident caused them to drown while swimming off the waters of Barangay Poblacion, Anini-Y, Antique last Friday, August 07.

Elmer John Niagar (12 years old), John Cyrus Magbanua (14 years old), and Moises Sasi (12 years old) were rescued by the local residents while Rickson Inson (12 years old) and Riel Kurt Inson (14 years old) remains missing. 

According to Lighthouse Keeper 1 Maruja Raba, the children went swimming along the shoreline of said barangay around 1:00 pm but were pulled by strong current towards the deeper portion of the sea.

Upon receipt of information, the Deployable Response Team (DRT) of Coast Guard Station San Jose de Buenavista, together with CAPT GERT HEYNS of the PCG Auxiliary, immediately conducted a search and rescue operations.

Yielding negative results, the SAR operation was temporarily terminated due to unfavorable sea condition and will continue if weather permits.
