PCG: In the face of adversity and distress, the officers and men of the Coast Guard District North Western Luzon (CGDNWLZN) have exhibited bravery and humanitarianism as thousands of typhoon-stricken citizens were successfully rescued and evacuated to a safer place last week during the onslaught of Typhoon Ineng.
Typhoon Ineng caused flash floods, landslides and destruction of infrastructures in Ilocos Region, leaving thousands homeless.
Through the guidance and leadership of its District Commander, CAPT LEOVIGILDO G PANOPIO PCG, the Station Commanders of CGS Currimao, LCDR JAYBOM J CALICA PCG; and CGS Salomague, LTJG MARWIN S DEL ROSARIO PCG at, have led a Rescue, Evacuation and Relief Operations last August 20-22 in the affected barangays of Ilocos Sur and Ilocos Norte.
Their professionalism and dedication to duty has earned the respect, trust and admiration of the affected municipalities of Ilocos, thus, effecting a good image for the Philippine Coast Guard.
