PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Coron apprehended two persons who were caught illegally selling LED lights at Coron Pier on September 01.

The Coast Guard acted upon a report from a concerned citizen who stated that there was an alleged illegal trade of said product onboard M/bca Queen Olympia.

Immediately, the team conducted inspection to subject motor banca and found-out thirteen (13) pieces LED bulb in possession of the two crew members onboard identified as Alex Villano, 42 years old from Davao City and Rene Dacanile, 24 years old from Bacolod City. According to report, some of the bulbs were already sold without any documents from the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Import Compliance Certificate (ICC) and Mayor’s Permit. Further investigation revealed that said products came from an unknown Chinese national based in Puerto Princesa City.

CGS Coron coordinated with DTI representative in Coron, Palawan for the proper turn-over of the apprehended persons together with the confiscated items.
