DOTC-PCG: Elements of the Coast Guard Station (CGS) Aparri, together with Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon (CGDNELZN) and Special Operations Unit (SOU) of Northeastern Luzon, have recovered a cadaver along Apangunan Bridge, Brgy, Macanaya, Aparri Cagayan around 8:00 AM today, January 10.
Initial investigation revealed that the cadaver, identified as Mark Jolein Balisi, 29 years old, married, and a resident of Zone 6 Macanaya, Aparri, Cagayan, was reported missing by his mother in the morning of January 09.
Upon receiving the report, the team assessed the vicinity for a possible search and retrieval operation. Around 8:00 AM today, the team conducted a deep search along the vicinity of Apangunan bridge and found the cadaver of Balisi while his motorcycle was found 3 meters away from the body.
Accordingly, on January 09, around 9:00 PM, Balisi was driving his red Suzuki Smash 110 motorcycle while under the influence of alcohol. Investigation revealed that the victim was heading to Barangay Minanga from Macanaya, Aparri when he fell over the Apangunan bridge and drowned at the river.
Coast Guard turned-over the cadaver to his family for proper disposition.
