DOTC-PCG: VADM Isorena lauds personnel of CGSS Estancia saving a total of 31 passengers while the distressed motor boat was towed back to shore by the elements of the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Estancia in Carles, Iloilo last Monday, January 13.

M/Bca M-Star-II reportedly broke its rudder post due to strong winds and big waves prevailing at the vicinity waters northeast of Manigonigo Island in Carles, Iloilo. It's boat captain Marlou Mortel immediately reported to CGSS Estancia that the incident resulted to steering casualty and requested for assistance.

Upon arrival at the distressed area, CGSS Estancia conducted a Search and Rescue operation onboard F/Bca MJ and towed M/Bca M-Star-II 300 meter off the Estancia Feeder Port where it safely transferred the passengers to a flat boat.

The Coast Guard advised the master of subject motor boat to procure a new rudder to replace the broken one.
