DOTC-PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Dapitan successfully evacuates 10 families along the riverbanks of Barangay Torno, Dipolog City last Monday, January 13.

Initial reports revealed that the Dipolog River overflowed due to high tide around 8:00 PM.

This prompted CGS Dapitan to immediately dispatch two teams to conduct evacuation and rescue operations to the flooded areas due to torrential heavy rains brought about by the Low Pressure Area (LPA) in Mindanao.

Upon arrival in the area, the team evacuated first the children and elderly and carried them to safe vicinity. The team rescued and evacuated a total of 60 individuals.

The Coast Guard together with Oracis Group continues to monitor all rivers and flooded areas brought about by nonstop heavy rainfall.
