DOTC-PCG: Two victims of human trafficking were intercepted by Coast Guard Station (CGS) Bongao onboard MV Kerstin 2 in Bongao Port last Wednesday, January 22.

The sea marshal of MV Kerstin 2 tipped the information to the Coast Guard around 12;20 PM last Wednesday when the vessel left Zamboanga City for Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

Upon the ship's arrival at around 3:30PM, the personnel of CGS Bongao, Philippine Marines and DSWD representatives took the victims in custody and were escorted to the PNP Maritime Police office for interrogation.

The victims were identified as Rotchel A. Cabigas and Gina T. Montilla, both 26 years old and from Davao City.

At 3:37PM, said victims were interviewed by the personnel of Maritime Police and Rosabella R Definado-Sulani, focal person of Bongao Inter-agency Task Force Against Human Trafficking. Thereafter, the victims were properly turned–over to custody for profiling.
