PCG: Commodore Enrico Efren A Evangelista, Commander of Coast Guard District Palawan (CGDPAL), has recently lauded the efforts of Coast Guard Station Cuyo together with Field Station Cuyo, K-9, Marine Environmental Protection Unit Light Station (MEPU LS) Keeper and Special Operations Unit personnel in rescuing 22 passengers including its operator onboard a distressed motor banca at vicinity 0.5 NM southwest of Cuyo Pier.

Initial reports revealed that the unnamed motor banca powered by Yanmar 12 HP engine, painted white and green, owned and operated by Jesus Radoc of Brgy Rizal, Cuyo, Palawan, has departed Capusan Beach enroute to Bisucay Island at around 1:30 PM of May 16, 2014 when it encountered engine trouble which caused it to be dead on water.

Immediately, while conducting sea trial of Aluminum Boat 037 near said vicinity, said Coast Guard personnel who sighted the unnamed motor banca with its operator and 21 passengers onboard has rendered necessary assistance and successfully rescued the said passengers onboard.

The following is the list of rescued passengers:

3. Junnedel Iaderas – 21 – Rizal, Magsaysay

4. Justin Pagia – 24 – Rizal, Magsaysay

5. Belma Palay – 44 - Bisucay Island

6. Jorie Dagaraga – 18 - Bisucay Island

7. Noel Dagaraga – 54 - Bisucay Island

8. Jacquelyn Dagaraga – 47 - Bisucay Island

9. Roby Rebilias – 14 - Bisucay Island

10. Sharmaine Laderas – 25 - Bisucay Island

11. Juliet Dagaraga – 47 - Bisucay Island

12. Jaysialyn Dagaraga – 9 - Bisucay Island

13. Hamil Revillas – 29 - Bisucay Island

14. Kate Lorraine Dagaraga – 15 - Bisucay Island

15. Rose Marie Ocol – 9 - Bisucay Island

16. Jodie Batul - 18 – Rizal, Magsaysay

17. Jay Laderas – 19 - Rizal, Magsaysay

18. Ian Laderas – 19 - Rizal, Magsaysay

19. Jovy Miagao – 21 - Rizal, Magsaysay

20. Diane Akyas – 18 – Lacarel, Magsaysay

21. Jessica Laderas – 25 - Bisucay Island

All passengers were found to be in good physical condition and were subsequently sent home to their respective families while said motorbanca was towed to the shoreline of Capusan Beach, Brgy. Tenga Tenga, Cuyo, Palawan.
