PCG: Three local tourists, two of whom were teenagers, were found dead by the Coast Guard at the vicinity waters of Madrigal Private Resort in Calatagan, Batangas on two separate days last week.

The three (3) victims identified as Ronald Cordero, 46; Therise Cordero, 18; and Jiso Pinto, 17, were reportedly walking along the break waters of said resort in Barangay Bagong Silang last June 12 when they were swept by big waves off to the deep portion of the sea.

Upon receipt of report from a certain Nora Alvarez, resident of said Barangay, the personnel of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Calatagan immediately proceeded to the area to render necessary assistance.

The cadavers of Ronald and Therise were found by the Coast Guard, the jet ski operator of Madrigal Resort and some local residents at the break water of said beach at the same day.

The search and rescue operation was temporarily suspended due to very rough sea condition, strong winds and poor visibility.

The following day, Pinto's cadaver was found by local residents 300 yards off the area of incident.

A certain Gilbert Alvarez informed CGSS Calatagan of said retrieval and accompanied them to the area where the victim was turned-over to his father for proper disposition.

Further investigation revealed that the Corderos were residents of ParaΓ±aque City while Pinto was from Malate, Manila.
