PCG: Elements of BFAR MCS 3009 intercepted a motor banca carrying undocumented logs at vicinity seawaters of Sangali, Zamboanga City last Wednesday, 18 June 2014.
M/bca Busay Express, a cargo/passenger vessel owned and operated by Sambas Hamonnoh, 42 years old and residentof Purok 4, Taluksangay, Zamboanga City, was intercepted carrying different dimensions of flitch and round logs. Upon inspection, PCG also found following violations:
A. No Boat Captain License
B. No Chief Engineer License
C. No Cargo/Passenger Ship Safety Certificate
D. No Minimum Safe Manning Certificate
E. No Certificate of Ownership
F. No Tonnage Measurement Certificate
G. No Certificate Of Philippine Registry
H. No Certificate of Public Convenience
I. No Passenger Insurance Cover
J. No Master Declaration of Safety Departure
K. No Life Jackets Onboard
Personnel from City Environment and Natural Resources (CENRO) conducted inventory of the intercepted log and discovered thirty 33 flitch of Antipolo and Mango Juani Tree and three logs of Gimelina with more or less 1,554.944 board feet. Said wood products were subsequently turned-over to CENRO personnel.
Coast Guard Sub-Station (SGSS) Sangali issued a Certificate of Orderly Inspection (COI) and Enforcement Inspection Apprehension Report (EIAR) to the boat operator while Sangali CENRO will file appropriate charges for the confiscated undocumented logs.
