PCG: Elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Aroroy rescued all passengers of M/bca Mabie which encountered engine trouble at the vicinity of Aroroy, Masbate yesterday afternoon, July 14.

Investigation revealed that M/bca Mabie departed Aroroy enroute to Masbate City with 13 passengers onboard and skippered by B/Captain Stevan Cabahug when they encountered engine trouble around 3:30 PM of said date due to very rough sea condition in the area. 

Immediately, upon receipt of information, Coast Guard Station (CGS) Masbate directed CGSS Aroroy to conduct search and rescue (SAR) operation.

The SAR team of CGSS Aroroy onboard AB 186 proceeded to the distress area and successfully rescued and towed M/bca Mabie to Baleno, Masbate with all passengers in good physical condition who were subsequently turned-over to Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO).
