PCG: Crew members of a domestic cargo vessel were found safe and in good physical condition after said vessel ran aground in Romblon last Tuesday, July 22.
Information received by the personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Romblon revealed that MV Seaborne Cargo 1 ran aground on a muddy portion of the sea while entering Looc Anchorage in Romblon.
According to the investigation, MV Seaborne Cargo 1 departed Pier 18 North Harbour, Manila in the evening of July 21 carrying 29 container vans, a rolling cargo, compressor and various construction materials that were bound for Nasipit, Butuan.Β
Strong winds and big waves reportedly caused the ship to run aground.
All 21 crew members, including its skipper Capt. Rodolfo Manos, were in good physical condition.
Subsequently, the personnel of CGS Romblon advised Capt. Manos to file a Marine Protest relative to the incident.
