PCG: Three fishermen were rescued by the elements of the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Roxas after their boat was accidentally hit by a whale and submerged last Tuesday, August 12.

A concerned citizen reported to CGSS Roxas that a fishing banca was already half-submerged at said vicinity.

Immediately CGSS Roxas proceeded to the area to conduct search and rescue operation and rescued the three fishermen who were onboard said fishing banca.

Investigation revealed that F/Bca Brunio was anchored at vicinity waters of Johnson Island, Roxas, Palawan when she was accidentally hit by a whale causing her to half-submerge. 

The team towed the fishing banca to Johnson Island while the rescued fishermen who were found to be in good physical condition opted to remain at said island to repair their fishing boat.
