PCG: Eight persons, including a one-month old baby, were rescued by the Coast Guard at the vicinity waters of Barangay Togbo, Masbate City last Sunday, August 31.
The said passengers were onboard M/Bca Ronnie which reportedly encountered engine trouble while enroute to Masbate City.
Immediately upon receipt of said report, the elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) San Jacinto proceeded to the area to conduct search and rescue operation together with five concerned citizens of the said barangay.
Around 9:45 pm, said motorbanca was successfully rescued and towed to Masbate Port.
The following passengers arrived at port in good physical condition:
Alexander Masangkay (Boat Capt), 25 years old; Anthony Bajana (Crew), 29 years old; Paul John Cadino, 21 years old; John Kenneth Raburar, 18 years old; Mechel Zaragosa, 25 years old; Zean Zaragosa, 1 month old; Robert Hinanay, 26 years old; and Leo Zaragosa.
M/Bca Ronnie is owned and operated by Rolando Masangkay of Barangay Lagundi, Batuan Masbate.
On the same date, said survivors returned to their respective families and SAR team returned to proper station without any untoward incident reported.
