PCG: 20 devotees of Señora Peñafrancia were rescued by the Coast Guard Sea Marshall team last Sunday, September 28, when their motorboat collided with another and sunk during a fluvial procession in Barangay Poblacion, Rapu-Rapu, Albay.
Investigation revealed that one of the fluvial boats sailed near another boat which caused the collision and damaged the starboard outrigger of the latter.
Meanwhile, PCG Sea Marshall/Security Team headed by PO1 Labasbas PCG and CGSS Rapu-Rapu personnel headed by PO2 Abonite PCG immediately conducted search and rescue operations.
Said operation resulted to the successful rescue of the 20 passengers who are all residents of Purok 6, Barangay Poblacion, Rapu-Rapu, Albay namely:
