PCG: Five stranded passengers, two of whom are teachers, were rescued last Friday, October 10 by the joint team of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Coron, Special Operations Group and K-9 personnel from a marooned motor boat 3NM west off Banol Beach in Coron, Palawan.
The report was received by CGS Coron from a certain SB Tejad, a member of Sanguniang Bayan, stating that an unnamed person was seeking assistance for the rescue of M/Bca Princess Larah.
The team immediately conducted a search and rescue operation and successfully rescued the passengers namely Ruel L Martirez (boat operator, 27 years old), Jeric Ladao (crew, 23 years old), Rowel Liado (elementary teacher, 34 years old), Reymond Agnir (elementary teacher, 33 years old) and Sheilla Gabinete (13 years old) and towed the motorbanca to Lualhati Park in Coron.
Reports revealed that said motorbanca departed a port in Barangay San Miguel, Linapacan, Palawan enroute to Coron when said vessel encountered derangement.
All passengers were in good physical condition.
