PCG: Five passengers and the boat captain of a distressed motor banca were rescued by elements of Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Culion at the vicinity waters of Sition Konkel, Brgy. Baldat, Culion, Palawan last Monday, October 20.

The incident was reported by a certain Lucille Castro, 53 years old and resident of Brgy Balala, Culion, Palawan.

According to Castro, the boat was underway to Culion when its engine overheated thereby damaging the head gasket cylinder. 

The subject motor banca, colored blue and yellow, was skippered by Joselito Vargas. 

Immediately, CGSS Culion conducted search and rescue operations and rescued the distressed motor banca and all its passengers onboard including the boat captain. 

The passengers who were found to be in good physical condition were transferred to speed boat Ma Virginia while the distresses motor banca was towed to Culion Port.
