PCG: A female child was recovered by the Coast Guard while another remains missing in Urdaneta, Pangasinan after both were washed away by river currents. 

The victims identified as Catrina Bergado, 10 years old and Mary Ann Pangilinan, 9 years old, both residents of Sitio Mitura, Brgy. San Vicente, Urdaneta, Pangasinan were seen playing in the shallow portion of a river when they were accidentally drifted downstream.

Upon receipt of information from the City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (CDRRMO), the joint SAR team of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Sual and Special Operation Operation Unit of Northwestern Luzon immediately searched for the girls.

Mary Ann's lifeless body was recovered after an underwater search operations approximately 50 meters away from the drowning site. 

The team continued to search for Catrina but yielded negative results. They temporarily terminated the operations and will resume the following day if weather permits.
