PCG: Three cadavers were separately recovered by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in three different incidents last Friday, November 7, in Batangas, Iloilo and Pangasinan.

The first victim was found by the Special Operations Unit-Southern Tagalog (SOU-STL) 20 feet underwater of Batangas Pier.

Elmer Florendo Y Reano, a resident of Brgy. Cambalo, Cajidiocan, Romblon reportedly jumped off ramp No. 6 in Batangas Pier around 10:00AM and drowned.

The security personnel of Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI) and Batangas Port reported the incident to Coast Guard Station (CGS) Batangas who immediately conductedΒ  search and rescue operations.

Latter's body was turned over to ATI-Batangas and PNP-Batangas for investigation. It was later brought to San Fernando Funeral Homes for proper disposition.

Another drowning incident was reported on the same day involving a 13-year old girl from Lingayen, Pangasinan.

Erica Jane Libres was reportedly swimming when strong water current washed her off to the deeper portion of Agno River.

Erica was found by the SAR divers of CGS Sual and SOU-North Western Luzon 20 feet under Agno River. Her body was turned-over to PNP-Lingayen for investigation and to Lingayen District Hospital for proper disposition.

Another lifeless body was found by the PCG the following day at Sitio Ulpok, Brgy. Bagongon, Concepcion, Iloilo.

Tiago Benia, 87, was sighted by a certain Inday Asong, 12 years old, lying lifeless at the shoreline of said barangay. The cadaver was positively identified by his niece Mrs. Omega B. Tarde.

It was presumed that Benia suffered from hypertension and fell overboard while fishing.

The cadaver was properly turned-over to his family and brought to Balida Funeral Homes, Concepcion, Iloilo for proper disposition.
