PCG: The personnel of Coast Guard Station (CGS) Mapun have conducted a medical evacuation to the wounded crew of F/B Monalinda yesterday, December 14. 

The victim identified as Jesus M. Lagan, reportedly fell on a dilapidated bitt, a pair of posts used for fastening mooring lines, due to the violent swaying of the boat brought on by rough seas which Lagan suffered a wound on his left thigh.

The incident was immediately reported by two of the victim's shipmates to CGS Mapun. 

The team composed of CGS Mapun then proceeded to the vicinity waters 300 meters south of Mapun Pier and successfully evacuated the wounded crew and brought him to Cagayan de Tawi-Tawi District Hospital for further medical assistance.
