PCG: A five-year old boy was found dead on Christmas day by the rescue team of Coast Guard and MDRRMC at the shoreline of Malapatan, Sarangani Province.

The victim, identified as Samuel Viso Jr., accidentally drowned while on a beach outing with his family last December 25.

The incident was reported to the Coast Guard by Brandy Palarion, OIC for operations of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) Malapatan.

Immediately, the personnel from Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Malapatan and CGSS Alabel, together with MDRRMO Malapatan Rescue Team, proceeded at the incident area and conducted search and rescue operations.

At around 2:00 pm of the same date, the child's floating cadaver was found a mile off Brgy Poblacion, Malapatan.

The cadaver was turned-over to PNP Malapatan for proper identification and disposition.
