Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Sub-Station in Sta. Ana, Cagayan rescued three fishermen of a distressed fishing banca at the vicinity waters off Gonzaga, Cagayan at around 08:30 p.m. on 15 January 2021.

According to the rescued individuals, identified as 46-year-old Gilbert Ricolizado, 45-year-old Rumolo Agadinay Jr, and 42-year-old Sonny Ricolizado of Barangay Minanga, their port quarter and rudder acquired damages, causing seawater to enter the boat.

Immediately, they contacted the nearest Coast Guard unit for search and rescue (SAR) assistance.

After securing the fishermen, the PCG towed the distressed fishing boat to San Vicente Port in Sta. Ana, Cagayan for needed repair.
