Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr urged the 32 Coast Guard officers promoted to the next higher rank of "Lieutenant Commander" to converge and collaborate with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) in performance of their duties and responsibilities for the nation.

"The PCG cannot stand alone. If we want to succeed in our efforts, we have to work together with the national government, fellow uniformed services, and other stakeholders. We have to implement our initiatives in a holistic approach to ultimately address lawless violence and effectively serve others," Admiral Ursabia said.

During the oath-taking and donning ceremonies yesterday, 25 January 2021, the Coast Guard Commandant encouraged the newly-promoted officers to become "Ambassadors of Goodwill" β€” always finding ways to be of help to the organization, the country, and fellow Filipinos.

"Many are called, but only few are chosen. You are the chosen few. There is a purpose why out of the many who applied, only the 32 of you are promoted," Admiral Ursabia noted.

"There is a corresponding mission for you to undertake β€” to be instruments of God at the frontline. Gentlemen and ladies, commit to serve others with humility and compassion," the Coast Guard Commandant added.
