This is the commitment of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) to God, the country, and the Filipino people β to augment the delivery of public service, wherever its personnel and assets are needed.
"The PHILIPPINE COAST GUARD will always provide SUPPORT to our PARTNER AGENCIES, as long as we are capable to do so," PCG Deputy Commandant for Operations, Vice Admiral Leopoldo V Laroya said during the turn-over of 39 PCG personnel to support the operations of the Interagency Council for Traffic (IACT) in major thoroughfares in Metro Manila yesterday, 26 January 2021.
During the ceremony, IACT Chief, Assistant Secretary Manuel S Gonzales expressed his sincerest gratitude to the Coast Guard for its interminable assistance in upholding road policies and regulations for the safety of motorists and passengers in the country's capital.
The PCG, aside from being the only humanitarian armed service in the Philippines, is also one of the umbrella agencies of the Department of Transportation (DOTr).
Under the guidance of Secretary Arthur Tugade, the PCG provides force multipliers, not only in seaports and waterways, but also in major roads, railways, and airports to support the whole-of-government approach in providing safe, comfortable, and convenient transportation experience to the public.
