The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rescued three local fishermen aboard a distressed motorbanca at the vicinity waters off Barangay Darul-akram, Languyan, Tawi-Tawi on 23 January 2021.

According to the rescued individuals, they were rammed by a foreign vessel on 06 January 2021, causing their motorbanca to malfunction. They stayed adrift for weeks, surviving solely on raw fish and rainwater.

Personnel of the Coast Guard Sub-Station in Languyan, together with local government unit (LGU) personnel, transported the local fishermen to the Coast Guard Station in Central Tawi-tawi where they were provide with medical assistance.

Consequently, they boarded BRP Cape EngaΓ±o (MRRV-4411) on 25 January 2021 to be reunited with their families in Barangay Sagua, Anini-y, Antique.
