The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) will construct a radar system facility and lighthouse station in a 600-square meter land area in Barangay Tamorong donated by the local government unit (LGU) of Sta. Catalina, Ilocos Sur!

The PCG, represented by Commodore Genito B Basilio, together with Sta. Catalina Mayor Edgar Rapanut, signed the deed of donation on 09 February 2021.

The construction of the radar system facility will support the PCG in upholding maritime law enforcement and maritime security, while the lighthouse station will further enhance maritime safety in the waters of Northwestern Luzon.

To ensure said infrastructure projects will be utilized and maintained efficiently, the PCG will also establish the Coast Guard Sub-Station Sta. Catalina at the donated land area.
