The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is all set to ensure maritime safety and extend humanitarian assistance amid the onslaught of tropical storm, #AuringPH this week.

PCG Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr has directed all Coast Guard units situated in areas that will be directly affected by #AuringPH to intensify precautionary measures and conduct proactive disaster response operations.

Appropriate advisories to local fishermen, ship crew, and other maritime stakeholders have been issued to remind them of the β€˜No Sail Policy’ during inclement weather.

PCG districts in Southern Luzon, Visayas, Northern Mindanao, and Davao region have been placed on heightened alert to ensure completeness and preparedness of deployable response groups (DRGs) and quick response teams (QRTs).

Moreover, Coast Guard vessels, air assets, and land mobility vehicles from the National Headquarters and major PCG units are on standby for possible augmentation during evacuation and/or rescue operations.

To ensure further humanitarian assistance will be extended as soon as the weather permits, Admiral Ursabia has also instructed the PCG Auxiliary to start initial preparations for the possible conduct of relief operations in coastal communities and residential areas that will be affected by the tropical storm.
