The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is one of the government agencies lauded by the House of Representatives of the Philippines (HOR), through House Resolution No. 142, for the 'loyal and heroic' public service of its men and women in extending humanitarian assistance and disaster response to typhoon-stricken communities in various provinces last year.

"Our men in uniform showed heroic deeds amid the challenges and obvious high risk to their lives in rescuing families in their houses at the height of the onslaught of the past typhoons despite limitations in water and air assets and sophisticated equipment side-by-side with the magnitude of damage and hundreds of thousands of people affected," House Resolution No. 142 narrated.

"They have taken active roles during calamities, and their loyal and heroic service to humanity is worthy of recognition and commendation," it added.

Said resolution was adopted by the HOR, through House Speaker, Congressman Lord Allan Jay Q. Velasco on 03 February 2021.
