The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) received a letter of appreciation from the Department of Tourism - Philippines (DOT) for the service's 'enduring support' to its tourism initiatives, especially amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The DOT specifically expressed its sincere gratitude to the men and women of BRP Malabrigo (MRRV-4402) for providing safe, swift, and comfortable sea transport to and from the Coast Guard stations in Port Area, Manila and Corregidor despite moderate to rough sea condition on 18 February 2021.

The tourism department also acknowledged the generous assistance of Coast Guard Public Affairs Acting Commander, Commodore Armando A Balilo and Coast Guard District NCR - Central Luzon Commander, Commodore Charlie Q Rances who contributed to the smooth facilitation of said initiative.

The letter signed by DOT - NCR Regional Director Woodrow Maquiling Jr., DOT - CALABARZON Regional Director Michael Palispis, and DOT - Central Luzon Regional Director Carolina Uy was received by PCG Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr on 22 February 2021.
