The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) rendered a Testimonial Honor with Parade and Review for Vice Admiral Lyndon F Latorre after 37 YEARS OF PUBLIC SERVICE at the Bonifacio Naval Station (BNS) Parade Ground, Taguig City yesterday, 04 March 2021.

PCG Commandant, Admiral George V Ursabia Jr recognized the remarkable contributions of Vice Admiral Latorre in the Coast Guard service, most especially during his designation as the Commander of the Coast Guard Aviation Group (CGAG), now the Coast Guard Aviation Force (CGAF).

Vice Admiral Latorre started his career in the Naval Air Group in September 1991 and became a Coast Guard pilot in December 1995. He was entrusted with relevant innovatory flights, including the first use of GPS 90 on an islander flight to Pag-asa Island.

Some of his notable experiences in the Coast Guard service were being the first pilot to confirm the presence of Chinese vessels in Mischief Reefs during maritime domain awareness flights in February 1995 and the first pilot to fly a navy aircraft in two different foreign countries.

When he assumed command of the CGAG in 2012, Vice Admiral Latorre focused on conducting maritime domain awareness flights to Scarborough Shoal and introduced specialized training on Avionics, landing gear, powerplant, airframe, and propeller among CGAG officers and personnel.

Aside from Vice Admiral Latorre's spouse and children, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Head, Lieutenant General Cirilito E Sobejana and Philippine Navy (PN) Chief, Vice Admiral Giovanni Carlo J Bacordo also graced the ceremony.
