The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to a maritime incident involving four passengers aboard a distressed motorbanca at the vicinity waters off Brother Island, Barangay Teneguiban, El Nido, Palawan on 04 March 2021.

Said individuals went to the Provincial Government of Palawan located at Barangay San Fernando, El Nido to pick-up medical supplies for Barangay Binudac, Culion, Palawan.

While underway to Barangay Binudac, they encountered big waves that damaged the motorbanca's freeboard, causing it to half submerge.

The PCG team found and rescued the individuals at the vicinity waters 100 meters northeast off Brother Island.

After ensuring their safety, the search and rescue (SAR) team towed the distressed motorbanca to San Fernando Roro Port where the rescued individuals were declared in good physical condition.
