The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is set to build additional stations and/or sub-stations in the municipality of Malimono and Barangay Pamosaingan in Socorro, Surigao del Norte.

The Municipality of Malimono donated a total of 250-square-meter land area located at Punta Beach in Barangay Tinago, Malimono, Surigao del Norte.

Commander Elaine Pangilinan of the Coast Guard Station Surigao del Norte signed the deed of donation with Malimono Municipal Mayor Wallace Sinaca on 17 March 2021.

Meanwhile, Barangay Captain Leo Faron gave his go signal for the PCG's utilization of a 350-square-meter lot located at Purok 5, Barangay Pamosaingan, Socorro, Surigao del Norte.

Commodore Inocencio C Rosario Jr of the Coast Guard District Northeastern Mindanao signed the deed of donation with Barangay Captain Faron on 12 March 2021.

The expansion of Coast Guard presence in Surigao del Norte will further enhance maritime law enforcement, maritime security, maritime safety, maritime search and rescue, and marine environmental protection in the CARAGA region.
