In compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr, Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) technical divers will commence the search and retrieval operations to look for the remains of the missing βsabungerosβ that are allegedly dumped at Taal Lake tomorrow, 11 July 2025, as weather permits.
PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan PCG, has received the formal request from Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Jesus Crispin Remulla, yesterday, 09 July 2025.
The request covered the mobilization and deployment of specialized Coast Guard units, including operational support teams, to augment the DOJβs ongoing investigation.
Coast Guard District Southern Tagalog (CGDSTL) Commander, Commodore Geronimo Tuvilla PCG, has been directed to oversee all operational and tactical control, including operational guidance for personnel safety and environmental factors.
Admiral Gavan has also instructed the Coast Guard Fleet (CGFLEET) and Coast Guard Aviation Command (CGAvCom) to utilize the PCGβs remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to support the search and retrieval operations.
