The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) responded to a half-submerged motorbanca (MBCA) with three crew members onboard in the waters off Sitio Marina, Barangay Alas-Asin, Mariveles, Bataan on 20 July 2025.
In adhering to the guidance of President Ferdinan R Marcos Jr., the Coast Guard Sub-Station (CGSS) Mariveles immediately coordinated with the Maritime Police Mariveles and the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (BDRRMO) of the said regarding the reported incident at around 8:30AM of the same date.
Upon arriving in the area at around 10:30AM, CGSS Mariveles immediately conducted surface patrol operation and confirmed the incident. Also, they found out that there are two local fishermen who are already towing the half-submerged MBCA.
CGSS Mariveles promptly coordinated with the BDRRMO Alas-Asin Medical Team to provide the necessary medical assistance to the crew of the distressed MBCA.
Based on the report, the two local fishermen successfully towed the MBCA to the shoreline of Barangay Alas-Asin at around 11:10AM.
Medical assistance was immediately provided to the rescued crew members through the coordinated efforts of the Maritime Police Mariveles and BDRRMO Alas-Asin. All three were successfully rescued and found to be in good physical condition.
