The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) successfully conducted an outreach program in Barangay Gatuslao, Municipality of Candoni, Negros Occidental on July 29, 2025.
This initiative highlights the objective of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr.βs for the PCG to empower the youth and foster their proactive participation in national development.
A total of 300 school kits, fruits, and biscuits were distributed, while 80 students received free haircut servicesβbringing both smiles and confidence just in time for the new school year. In addition, the Coast Guard Special Operations Group (CGSOG) β Southern Visayas conducted a Drowning Prevention Seminar for 60 students, raising awareness on water safety and lifesaving practices.
The said activity was led by the Commander, Coast Guard District Southern Visayas (CGDSV), Commodore Ludovico Librilla Jr. PCG in collaboration with the PCG 1303rd, 1306th, 1308th and 1310th Auxiliary Squadrons and supported by personnel from CGDSV and Coast Guard Station (CGS) Southern Negros Occidental, brought essential assistance and joy to the school, students and community.
Commodore Librilla Jr. PCG expressed his sincere gratitude to the Coast Guard Auxiliary for their unwavering support and partnership in ensuring the success of the outreach program.
