The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) held the Graduation Ceremony of Internal Audit Specialization Course Class 03-2025 composed of 29 students from various units on July 25, 2025.
This initiative underscores the directive of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. to continuously enhance institutional capability and professional development within the PCG.
The Internal Auditor Specialization Course is a four-month program aimed at equipping students with the foundational knowledge, skills, and competencies required to serve effectively as Internal Auditors within the PCG. It consists of nine comprehensive modules that cover the core principles and practices of Internal Auditing.
The event was attended by the esteemed guest of honor and speaker, Department Manager, Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS), Attorney Carmenez Cruz.
“As graduates of this course, you are now equipped with the knowledge, tools, and values necessary to make a difference. I encourage you to continue learning, to never compromise your principles and to pursue excellence in every engagements you undertake," Atty. Cruz said.
The event was presided over by Coast Guard Internal Audit (CGIA) Commander, Rear Admiral Mitzie Silva-Campo PCG.
The ceremony also recognized honor students, with PO3 Richelle Olivar PCG earning the distinction of Top 1 in the class. She also received the Commander, CGIA Award, Certificate of Excellence, and Certificate of Distinction for Actual Audit in recognition of her exemplary performance throughout the course.
Completing the list of top performers were SW1 Ronalie Catalonia (Top 2), PO3 Jucelyn Tamayo (Top 3), PO3 Joanalyn Gamurot (Top 4), and SW1 Sheila Mae Dalabajan (Top 5).
The continuous conduct of the Internal Audit Specializations Course is in line with the PCG's strategic direction in enhancing internal governance and audit proficiency.
Said course has become a pivotal force in cultivating a corps of competent internal auditors, equipping them with advanced knowledge and practical skills tailored to the maritime and defense environment.
