The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) congratulates the PCG Judo Team that bagged awards at the South East Asia Judo Championship held in Rizal Sports Complex from July 18 to 20, 2025.

The PCG Judo team secured the following places:

Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG presided over the donning and oath taking ceremony of the newly promoted and appointed members of the PCG Auxiliary at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila on July 29, 2025.

President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., fully supports the increasing number of PCGA for they continuously exemplify meritorious conduct and extraordinary accomplishments in support to PCG’s maritime security operations, humanitarian assistance activities, and disaster relief and recovery efforts.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) conducted a rescue operation for MV Lapu-Lapu Ferry 1 in the vicinity waters off Catarman Point, Leyte, on July 28, 2025.

Under the directives of President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr., the PCG continues to uphold its mandate of ensuring the safety and security of all passengers and vessels navigating the Philippine waters.

At approximately 03:12AM on the same date, MV Lapu-Lapu Ferry 1 suffered engine failure and became dead in the water. The vessel, carrying a total of 144 passengers, began drifting eastward at a speed of 1.5 knots toward Baybay City Port.

The Coast Guard District Southern Visayass successfully conducted joint relief operations for 250 families in Kabankalan, Himamaylan, Hinigaran, Binalbagan and Municipality of Ilog on July 26, 2025.

This activity was initiated by the Coast Guard Station Southern Negros Occidental, with the generous support of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Auxiliary Executive Squadron. This made it possible to deliver family food packs to the most affected barangays.

Said families received essential assistance, reflecting the Coast Guard’s compassion and prompt response during times of disaster.

Newly promoted Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) officer, Commodore Donette Dolina PCG, took his oath before Department of Transportation - Philippines (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon in Pasay City on July 29, 2025.

President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr. approved the promotion of Coast Guard Legal Service (CGLS) Commander, Commodore Dolina PCG to the next higher rank on May 14, 2025.

According to the CGLS, this moment is more than a ceremonial passage—it is a celebration of discipline, leadership, and the unwavering call to serve. Commodore Dolina's promotion is a testament to his dedication, courage, and commitment to excellence in service of the PCG.
