The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) recognizes its first-ever female two-star general, Rear Admiral Mitzie Silva-Campo PCG!
This significant milestone in PCG history coincides with the celebration of the National Women’s Month, formally approved by President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr on 25 March 2025.
Rear Admiral Silva-Campo will formally take oath before the Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon tomorrow, 31 March 2025.

BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) participated in the simultaneous donning and oathtaking of newly promoted Officers while underway for its Tri-Country Port Visit to Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia on 28 March 2025.
A total of eight officers onboard BRP Gabriela Silang (OPV-8301) took their oath and received their new ranks as Captain, Lieutenant, and Lieutenant Junior Grade.

The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil L Gavan PCG, presided over the simultaneous donning and oath-taking ceremony of newly promoted officers at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila, today, 28 March 2025.
A total of 42 Commanders, 133 Lieutenant Junior Grade officers, and 700 Ensigns were promoted to the next higher ranks of Captain, Lieutenant, and Lieutenant Junior Grade respectively.
Admiral Gavan extended his heartfelt gratitude to President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. for his steadfast and invaluable support. He also expressed his deep appreciation to Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Vince Dizon and the entire DOTr team for their unwavering commitment and continuous efforts in strengthening the organization.
