The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has intercepted 80 boxes of alleged smuggled cigarettes with an estimated market value of 15.8 million pesos worth at North Harbor, Tondo, Manila.
On 27 February 2025, the Coast Guard Sea Marshal Force (CGSMF) received a phone call from intelligence personnel that there was a smuggled container cargo onboard M/V Saint Michael the Archangel that departed from the Port of Zamboanga.
Immediately, CGSMF onboard the said vessel proceeded to the bridge to verify the cargo manifest. Upon verification, the said container cargo was not included in the cargo manifest.

Commander Kimmy Carrie Guzon Necesario PCG, or simply "Kim," exemplifies the spirit of excellence and dedication in the Philippine Coast Guard. From her humble beginnings in Talisay City, Negros Occidental to becoming a distinguished Commander, her journey showcases the power of perseverance. With a master’s degree in Maritime Affairs, specializing in Maritime Law and Policy from the prestigious World Maritime University in Sweden, laid the foundation for her commitment to maritime sustainability.
Over the years, she has climbed the rank from Probationary Ensign to her current rank as a Commander, which reflects her commitment to continuous learning and growth, evidenced by her completion of the PCG Admiral Staff Course and specialized training like the International Maritime Domain Awareness course in Virginia, USA.
As a newly installed Deputy Director of the Coast Guard Strategic Studies and International Affairs Center (CGSSIAC) and Chief of International Affairs Division, her leadership contributed to international maritime collaborations.

The Philippine Military Academy rendered a Testimonial Honors for Vice Admiral Robert Noble Patrimonio PCG, Maritime Security Law Enforcement Command (MARSLEC) Commander, in Baguio City on 23 February 2025.
The 10th MARSLEC Commander was born on 12 May 1969 and raised in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental. A dedicated, experienced, and well-rounded officer who values education, family, and physical fitness. He is portrayed as a humble and respected leader of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).
Owing to his admiration for his older brother, he was inclined towards taking part in the PMA where he graduated as a member of class “Sambisig” of 1991. He was called to active duty in the Philippine Navy (PN) and was assigned to different PN ships finishing the Executive Officer Billet prior joining the PCG in 1996.
